To implement project and its activities more effectively, Net-Safe Latvia sees researches as an excellent way to find out what are the main habits, knowledge and perceptions about internet safety among project target groups – children, youngsters, their parents and educators. Researches are conducted every 2 years.

 
 
 

 

Research 2010: "Modern Technology Usage and Internet Safety"

This research was conducted from May to June 2010 and provides information on knowledge of internet safety issues and habits of modern technology usage of children, adolescents, their parents and teachers. Research was conducted using quantitative research method – indirect computerized interview – and provides results of 2017 respondents. Information on the research conducted was disseminated in schools inviting teachers to inform their students about the survey happening and use the computer lessons for filling out the questionnaire. Survey on Internet Safety 2010

The State Inspectorate for Protection of Children’s Rights launched a survey on internet safety to increase the awareness of helpline and to find out children attitude and perception of internet safety related questions. Survey was conducted in April and May 2010, it contained 7 questions – 6 closed and 1 open.
In total 597 children 303 girls and 294 boys responded from different educational institutions covering all regions of Latvia. Main conclusions and full survey results are accessible here >>>

Research 2008: "Safer Internet for Children and Youth" 

The aim of this research was to clarify the level of knowledge on safe use of the Internet among children, adolescents, their parents and teachers, as well as to enquire what they know about risks, opportunities and threats connected with the use of the Internet.

Research 2006: "Safer Internet for Children and Youth"

This research was conducted with the aim of discovering the level of knowledge on safer use of the Internet among children, adolescents, their parents and teachers. What do they know about opportunities and threats connected with the use of the Internet? The research helped to find answers to the following questions: what purpose do children and adolescents use the Internet for? Do they know what safe Internet content is? What is the potential action to ensure safety on the Internet for children and adolescents? What is their awareness of harmful content?
